Easy Mutton gravy

EASY MUTTON GRAVY

  Mutton is a good source of protein which is very helpful for the development of kids. We used to give mutton liver for the children first when start giving nonveg food for them..The below recipe is very easy to make and when made in a pressure cooker it will take only 1/2 an hour.. This dish can be served with rice,idli,dosa, chappathi, parotta..

INGREDIENTS

Mutton - 1/2 kg
Small onions - 100g ( slice them into 2 halves)
Green chillies - 3 nos (slit them into 2 halves)
Curry leaves - 2 strips
Ginger garlic crushed - 1 tbsp
Tomato - 1 no ( chopped)

Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Oil - 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp 
Fresh coriander leaves - 1/2 cup
Salt - as required
Water - as required









  

METHOD

Place a pan or kadai on the stove,let it get heated, add oil and once its hot enough add mustard seeds and let them splutter, add in onion, green chilles, curry leaves and saute them well.Now add in crushed ginger garlic and saute in a medium flame for 2 mins.. Add chopped tomatoes and saute it well till the tomatoes get mushy..








Add in the mutton pieces, turmeric powder, salt ..mix well and let it cook in medium flame for 5 mins..







Now add curry milagu , 1/2 cup of water, mix well , adjust salt and pressure cook for 6 to 8 whistles.. If cooking in any other vessel add more water and the cooking time will be between 45 mins to 1 hour.




Once the steam is released, bring back the pan to the stove and let sit there for 5 mins in high flame. turn of the stove and garnish with fresh coriander leaves generously. your mutton gravy is ready to serve ..
